“Jaco and I both lived in the same complex but had never run into each other. One evening at our complex AGM our paths crossed and after the first few dates and sussing each other out we pretty much knew. The last 18 months have been the most incredible journey for us – filled with passion, love, fun & lots of little adventures!

Our anniversary was the day after my 35th birthday and Jaco said he would be taking me out for an extra special dinner to celebrate. It is not easy to surprise me but he had me completely fooled – I really didn’t see the big question coming that evening!

Jaco had booked out the entire Cradle Restaurant for dinner. I have had many special times at the Cradle and it was amazing to be back and have the whole place to ourselves. I walked in to find a path of hundreds of rose petals and candles that led to a beautifully decorated table for two. As the sun set we enjoyed a special bottle of bubbly and the most delicious 3 course dinner.

Jaco was acting a bit strange but I didn’t think much of it until he asked me to walk up to the view point with him. When I got to the top I saw another little path of rose petals that led to a little table that was prepared for us. While we enjoyed another special bottle and our desserts under the African sky, Jaco got up and walked over to me and got down on his knee and proposed.

I don’t think you are ever quite prepared for that moment – emotions are all over the show & you don’t register what’s going on, but once it sinks in you can’t stop smiling and I have not stopped looking at my sparkly ring and feeling such a sense of excitement & bliss. It was night to remember and I couldn’t have asked for more. To top if off, Jaco took me away to Zwahili bush lodge for the weekend.

And so the next part of our adventure begins……!

Thank you Clare and Katannuta Diamonds for creating a little masterpiece for us. I had no clue what the final product was going to look like and when Jaco put it on my finger it was even more stunning than I could have hoped for!”
