A blue diamond with your dinner?
07 July 2016
Foodies the world over are known to travel far and wide and pay extortionate sums of money in the quest for the perfect meal.
But, who will be the lucky buyer of the world’s Most Expensive Dining Experience?
Priced at US$2 million, it’s not for everybody – but it’s the only culinary experience world-wide to include a natural blue diamond ring.
One lucky couple will be treated to an extensive 8-hour experience in Singapore, starting with a private 45minute helicopter ride over Singapore, a chauffeured Rolls Royce Drive and a luxury private cruise, culminating in a drop-off for dinner on top of the world famous Marina Bay Sands hotel.
As the guests are seated in custom-made armchairs, they will dine on 18 courses, including such culinary delights as wild Alaskan salmon, Belon oysters and New Zealand langoustines, with some of the dishes being eaten with personalized, diamond-studded chopsticks.
At midnight, the pièce de résistance, a 2.08ct Fancy Vivid Blue Jane Seymour diamond ring, will be presented alongside Louis XIII de Remy Martin cognac as fireworks light up the Singapore skyline.
The Jane Seymour ring was designed and created to celebrate the achievements of renowned actress Jane Seymour and features a cushion cut diamond set in an 18ct rose gold plated platinum ring. Never owned, and worn only once by Seymour during the ring’s unveiling celebrations in April of this year, the ring is estimated by manufacturers World of Diamonds to be worth US$2 million.
According to World of Diamonds, this is the world’s only celebrity jewellery piece not be pre-owned, which, if you consider the 8 hour lifestyle and culinary experience, makes it a bargain, right?
