Katannuta - Suppliers of wholesale diamonds, tanzanite, engagement rings, wedding bands and bespoke jewellery
As Katannuta does not run a retail outlet, we work to appointment only and all items of jewellery are manufactured to order. The first step in our process is to contact us either via email or telephone to see if we are able to assist your purchase of jewellery. Knowing your budget is critical and by providing us with these details up front we can immediately know whether or not we will be able to help you. Additionally, many of the ring designs you will see on our website can be modified to meet your requirements and budget – bear in mind that the colour, clarity, carat weight of the diamonds significantly affect the price of a ring, as does the setting (gold or platinum) and we are able to source diamonds to suit your budget.
We do not provide an actual design service, so many of our satisfied clients will send us a picture of an item of jewellery that they have seen in a magazine or on the internet. Please feel free to do this; in fact, we prefer if you can give us a definite indication of what you would like made.

Once we have discussed your individual requirements – either telephonically, via email or at a personal appointment – Katannuta will source the required gemstones and quote on both the gemstones and the manufacture of the item of jewellery. Quotes are typically valid for a limited period of time, due to the fact that all commodities (diamonds, gold and platinum) are priced in US Dollars (USD) and the South African Rand (ZAR) is often volatile in relation to the USD.
Diamonds quoted on may be viewed by appointment in a secure location, at offices in the Diamond Centre in Johannesburg. Katannuta supplies only diamonds cut to Excellent or Very Good proportions as we believe that diamond cut is of utmost importance. If you are happy with the diamonds, they must be paid for in total before submission to our manufacturing jeweller.
Manufacturing of jewellery normally takes 10 working days from submission of gemstones and payment of a 50% deposit. Any jewellery will be made to the detail of the submitted or agreed design. On occasion, the final manufacturing price may deviate upwards or downwards of the quote as it is often difficult to estimate the exact amount of gold or platinum to be used in manufacturing before the item is completed. Fluctuations in the ZAR-USD exchange rate may also cause a price increase or decrease. The remaining 50% of the jewellery manufacturing charge is due upon completion of the item of jewellery.
