Today, 3-stone diamond engagement rings are becoming increasingly popular amongst diamond jewellery shoppers. Often marketed to represent "Yesterday, today and tomorrow", the 3-stone diamond ring commonly comprises a larger central diamond flanked by two matching, smaller diamonds which may be the same shape or a different shape to the central diamond.

All of these designs can be manufacture in white or yellow gold (9ct or 18ct gold), platinum or palladium. The cost of each ring is dependent on the size and quality of the diamond set in the ring, in addition to the metal used during jewellery manufacture and the size of the ring to be made.
