WHO WE ARE

Katannuta Diamonds is a South African jewellery design and manufacturing company. Since 2007 we have been supplying gemstones, designing jewellery and manufacturing bespoke engagement rings, wedding bands and other fine jewellery for clients in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, United Kingdom, Singapore and the USA, amongst other countries.

Congratulations! You’re here because you’re ready to start your life together and you’re in the right place because together, starts here.
We know this is a big step for you and we appreciate you trusting us with this most important part of the process, the design and manufacture of your perfect engagement ring.

By now you have probably visited a few retail jewellery stores and consequently discovered that almost all of them stock generic, mass-produced jewellery made with a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

At Katannuta Diamonds, we like to do things differently. We don’t stock cheap imports, nor is our jewellery mass-manufactured. Just as each couple is unique and different to the next couple, likewise your engagement ring should be unique and different too. A lifelong commitment deserves exceptional quality, hand-selected diamonds and attention to detail, even more so in our era of instant gratification and mass consumerism.

Whether you’ve seen your perfect ring on our website, in a shop window, a magazine or perhaps even in your imagination, our assurance is to create the ring of your dreams with the best quality diamonds, gemstones and goldsmiths that South Africa has to offer.

“Clare has made a couple of very specific customized designs for us with quality, attention to detail and the results have been beautiful each time! I highly recommend Katannuta Diamonds”

Mark Smith, South Africa
“Katannuta Diamonds have made several items of jewellery for me over the years and I have been consistently delighted with the final product each and every time. They go that extra special mile for their customer and always exceed expectation in terms of quality, service and beauty of their jewellery.”
Samantha Fitzhenry, South Africa

“I am so happy with my gorgeous new rings and the wonderful service I received from Clare. I was so worried as I had had a previous bad experience with my ring, but she was very patient and worked with me to get my dream ring! Thank you Clare and team!”

Danielle Steel, South Africa

TOGETHER STARTS HERE

Each client is different and is treated with the utmost care so we can provide the best service to their exact needs. This is a guide to our step-by-step jewellery process.

1. JEWELLERY CONSULTATION

We know you’re busy. It’s important for you to get the best advice possible, as quickly as possible. In some cases, we may not be the best people to meet your needs and we don’t want to waste your time if we can’t help you to the best of our ability. Hence, we’ve streamlined our jewellery consultation process, providing you with maximum value. Our first consultations will take place via email or telephonically whereby you advise us of the designs you are interested in, together with your budget requirements, ring sizes and anything else that can help us put together a comprehensive, first draft quote. If you are in Johannesburg and would like to schedule an in-person appointment, this would normally take place during the second step of our process, the Gem Selection stage.

2. GEMSTONE SELECTION

A gemstone is normally the centerpiece of your engagement ring or jewellery and as a result deserves a significant amount of focus in our bespoke design process. With extensive stocks of diamonds, sapphires, tanzanites and other gemstones, we will offer you a selection of gems that best suit your budget and jewellery design. You’ll be able to look at the gems, in person, to compare cuts, colours, hues and tones and decide which is the perfect stone to form the focal point of your jewellery.

3. JEWELLERY DESIGN

Now that you’ve selected your perfect gemstones, we start work on fine-tuning your jewellery design to fit your chosen gem. The picture you found on Pinterest might be set with a 2ct diamond, and you’re purchasing a 0.80ct diamond. We carefully work on your chosen design to make sure it’s exactly what you’re looking for, keeping the proportions and style that you love the most. This stage is when we make final decisions on the size and number of any small diamonds for halo-rings, the detail on the shank of the ring and the style and design of the central collet. If you’re looking for any personal messages to be engraved on your jewellery, this is the time to finalise on the text you’d like.

4. JEWELLERY MANUFACTURE

All our bespoke jewellery is manufactured in Johannesburg, South Africa, ensuring we have full quality control over our manufacture process. Wherever possible, our preference lies with hand-made jewellery but in some instances this is not practical. In these instances, we use only the most up-to-date and precision jewellery casting techniques, allowing intricate designs and fine detail. Each diamond in your ring or jewellery is carefully set by hand to ensure the best possible setting for long-term security of your gemstones. Finally, each piece is hand-finished at the bench and passes through multiple quality checks before being delivered to you, our valued client.

OUR COMMITMENT

We are committed to upholding our cherished values of honesty, integrity and education with each client we have the privilege of serving.

All of our diamonds over 0.25ct in size are independently laboratory certified and guaranteed conflict-free as per the Kimberley Process guidelines. Our bespoke jewellery is all proudly South African, and our aim is not to compromise on quality to offer the cheapest diamonds or jewellery. Our aim is to offer consistently outstanding gemstones, workmanship and service, time and time again.
